It is over…I have watched the last two episodes of Prince of Tennis. Andrea and I watched them on Saturday and I will admit that I cried a little. The last two episodes focused on Ryoma (the Prince of Tennis) and his game against his Captain Tezuka. I won’t give away details because I think Chenthuran might watch most of the series!
Boys Over Flowers, the J-Drama that Andrea and I were watching, is also over. It was nine episodes long and ended right before Christmas. We finished the final three episodes last night and they were pretty good. Maria, I really recommend watching it…it is funny. It is the first full J-Drama that I have watched and I am looking forward to watching more.
So as of now the Anime viewing stands at:
Two anime finished - two in progress one pending:
- Prince of Tennis - Finished - now waiting for the Nationals TV specials to start in March
- Weiss Kreuz - Finished
- Fruits Basket - In progress - 20 episodes left
- Full Metal Alchemist - In progress - to be finished after Fruits Baskets
- Gravitation - Pending - to be watched when bored - Hong Kong subtitles - not the best
- Then what ever Andrea recommends next
The Manga reading currently stands at:
One in progress - two pending
- Prince of Tennis - still being written - currently reading
- Fruits Baskets - still being written - pending - need to get the English Volumes
- Boys Over Flowers - pending - not too sure if I want to read it
The J-Drama stands at:
One finished - Need more recommendations
- Boys Over Flowers - Finished
I am glad that I am starting to get into the anime, manga, and J-Dramas because helps me to understand more of the Japanese culture and my students. At first I thought they would just be entertaining and would help me hear more of the Japanese language but now I find that I will be watching or reading and something will jump out at me and I will either be like "my students do that" or "Ah, now I get why that is done". Who knew?
