Scary Carp and Taking over the world
Andrea and I had a wonderful time at the Ushiku Daibutsu yesterday. We spent a couple of hours enjoying the flowers, taking pictures, and talking. It was nice just to relax and hangout. The gardens were lovely and the weather was wonderful.
There was one problem. Andrea made me go see the carp. I understand that carp are fish and that most people would not be scared of them but those things are TERRIFYING! I am ok with a carp or two but when there are twenty HUGE carp staring at me, opening and closing their mouths while they are in the shallow water waiting for people to feed them, I freak out. The carp here are ugly, huge, and there are simply too many of them. Ugh, I have a fear of fish now.
At 6:30, the ALTs gathered at Beth and Kevin’s for a game of Risk and world domination! Andrea and I were on the same team and the joke was that I was the dictator and she was my spiritual leader. I am sure the spirits were talking to Andrea after she had a glass of wine and then half a cup of sake. The winners were Anne and Kevin who made a great team and had a game plan from the go. (I need to be on their team next time!)
