Steve Albini's studio is called Electrical Audio, and they're located in Chicago. One interesting thing on their website is the gear list, particularly the section on microphones. Not that I could afford 95% of these mics, but the comparison and cross-referencing could be handy if I ever need to rent one for a project.

EDIT: If you've ever had to listen to me go on about wanting to get into dark folk music, well, this is kinda what I mean. I think it's a good first step, anyway...

I am finally learning some decent methods for recording an acoustic guitar sound with the system I'm currently using. Unfortunately, for now I am limited to going direct into the mixer from a soundhole pickup, so it's not as nice as if I had a soundproof room and a good microphone.
