The Killing of Jacob Marr Very cool movie with special effects by the guy who did our special effects. There were a few really good, suspenseful moments and some great creepy shots. It's about a boy who finds a mysterious meteorite and then kills his parents. 25 years later a group of friends rents the old house for some peace and quiet. Instead they get picked off one by one. Totally fun little flick, I'll give it three cheers.

Horror High Poor Mr. Mumps. So the premise is a geeky chemistry whiz invents a drug to turn his beloved guinea pig into a ravenous monster. There's the typical jock who's girlfriend has a heart of gold and tries to befriend poor Vernon. The guinea pig is murdered and Vernon goes on a killing spree and it's all 70s low budget goodness. I'll give it two cheers.

Slaughter High This started off a cross between Carrie (but with a guy) and The Toxic Avenger (he's a geek that gets deformed). It starts out with poor Marty Rantzen just wanting to get laid. He's seduced by the gorgeous Caroline Munro into the ladies gym locker room. Poor guy gets naked and jumps out of the shower only to find all the girl's friends laughing. They dunk his head in the toilet and then later they somehow set fire to his lab. He gets acid in the face...then 10 years later for a phony high school reunion (the school is deserted, crumbling and dusty), he comes back for revenge. Hilarious. Another 2 cheers.

There's more I can't remember...October is the month of horror movies!
