First, this is a movie my Dad did! We were both really impressed with it. For super low budget, it was shot really well - obviously inspired by Tarantino, but all in all totally entertaining

The Korean is a crime drama with gangsters and criminals, a little plot heavy but still really cool. My Dad plays the mob boss Sachton and gets beaten up a lot. There's a love story with the main character, the Korean falling in love with the mob boss's girlfriend and lots of gunfire and people running around. Not usually my cup of tea, but I'll go ahead and give it three cheers. Enjoyable!

Rumble FishVery, very cool. I never saw this before and I can't remember if I read it or not. It's a great story about a young thug trying to live up to his older brother's legend. It really affected me, even if the ending seemed a little rushed. The acting is really great all around and I loved the over stylized way that it was shot. Even the music (done by Stewart Copeland of the Police) was perfect. And Tom Waits as the grouchy bartender? Oh yay. Great movie, four cheers.

Evolution Directed by the guy who did Ghostbusters. I love the weird creatures in this and as a whole - it is very silly. D noticed a lot of tasteless racist jokes that went over my head the first time, so that did bring it down a notch. Still, the idea behind the whole thing is really cool. The way they kill the monster at the end is pretty darned funny too. Two cheers.

The Neverending Story yeah, I know. But I was 12 when this movie came out, so it holds that special place in my heart. I love all the weird and wonderful creatures in Fantasia and it's just so much fun. I still cry when Artex dies but then, who doesn't want their own luck dragon? Anyway I wanted to see it because I got the DVD ages ago - and it comes with the Neverending Story II. I don't hold much hope for that one, but I feel obliged to see it. Great stuff, three cheers.
