The power has gone out twice today. It's made the CUI campus quite excitable. The poor cafeteria had to write down everyone's ID card # by hand at lunch - as if a free meal would have been the end of the world. ;) Hee.
But it's been a good day, all things considered. Busy. I'll be glad to shut down my brain and watch "the shows" tonight - I guess the deal now that Alias has started (V's favorite show) is that we're going to her mom's place on Wednesday nights instead of struggling with our dormTV's reception. Heh. Even though Lost is a repeat, it's a good one (Sayid stuff!), so hooray.
I got named Employee of the Month for January cos of all the shift-covering I've been doing of late. They gave me a mug and $5 towards Carl's Jr. Feel the excitement! Actually, I'm starving, so it sounds terribly good right now. Must change the subject!
My Music 101 project needs to be decided upon by tomorrow - I can do a presentation on either...
- a musical personality other than a current pop star (Matt Bellamy? Chris Cornell? Bono?)
- a particular style of music from a certain era or world region (any thoughts?)
- a short musical composition (my immediate thought was "Butterflies and Hurricanes" but there's so many other possibilities)
Ponder, ponder.
Have I mentioned how happy I am to be taking music classes this semester? It's so nice to have a semi-regular outlet again, even if it's not piano. It makes me feel complete.
Oh, by the way - our Tae Kwon Do teacher finally showed up yesterday. Turns out the location is off-campus... they moved cos the gym was too "distracting", heh. Anyway, so Ruby and I are hitching a ride with some other people in the class every Tuesday. Wow. Quite an adventure for 1.5 units... it'll be fun, though. Goodness knows I need the regular exercise.
Aight, well, I better go finish reading The Awakening before V comes - she just called, In-N-Out for dinner tonight! WHEE.
