Ass to the grindstone

Today I got back to the gym for the first time since our mold extravaganza began (more on that in another post). I'm trying to shed the last five pounds of my pregnancy weight and rein in my post-natal tummy. I was starting to get into shape after my pregnancy, but had to put that on hold to wait around for endless workmen, inspectors, etc. Now I'm back at it, with about as much enthusiasm as you might expect. I (and rt_hon_rackman) have also given up sweeties for the month of June. With about as much enthusiasm as you might expect. When I told Gillian about this, she said, "Then I'm giving up sweeties too." That solidarity lasted until her next meal, but it was a nice thought, anyway.

I'm also kicking my Starbucks habit (iced chai latte and pumpkin bread), which I picked up when I was trying to keep myself awake during Elliot's first months. I can become frighteningly addicted to certain foodstuffs, and this addiction, like so many others, is just too damned expensive.

Clean living is so boring.
