Gillian has taken up backgammon. She pulled out my old wooden travel set and asked how it worked. I had to look up the rules, but we figured it out eventually, and now she asks to play regularly. She played the other night with
rt_hon_rackman when his throat was too sore for reading stories. And she beat him.
rt_hon_rackman also let her play with his new remote-controlled
Dalek, brought to him from England by a friend. She loved driving it around the house, making it screech "EX-TER-MIN-ATE!" and "Seek! Locate! Destroy!" She ended up laughing and yelling "Destroy! Destroy!" over and over. (This made me think of
crouchback for some reason.)
Strategy and ruthlessness. Can world domination be far behind?
