I don't think there are many who would disagree; North America is one of the most wasteful societies on the planet.  We have so much, and worse, we take so much for granted, that we've lost the lessons of our fore-fathers and just keep consuming more and more new things instead of re-using, repairing, or recycling what we already have.

     I've been packing for the last couple of days.  In theory, I should have been able to do it all in a couple of hours, but it doesn't seem to be working that way.  I guess if I just rammed everything into boxes and didn't bother trying to sort anything, it would be faster, but only to a point.  There are some items that I can't pack (or move) ( Read more... )
