Sold at Last!!!

     It became official today!

All of the conditions on the sale of my house in Calgary have been met or waived, and the house is now OFFICIALLY SOLD!!!  :)

This take a huge load off my mind, as I will no longer have to worry about paying ultilities, insurance, taxes, or a mortgage on the property!  That's a savings of close to $2k a month!

In other good news: Trixstir and I completed the final clean-up of the debris from the garage today.  The area has now been mown short, and gone over with a magnetic-broom (basically a large magnetic bar on wheels, with a broom-handle) to pick up any nails or other things that may have fallen off.  There were quite a few, so it was well worth the effort.  We've also cleared a lot of the junk from around the house, and the driveway/patio is now much neater!  In the next few days, we'll be removing the pile of scrap-metal from the area, and that will really clean it up!  Yesterday we mowed the grass between the garage and grainery (again) and moved the two augers and the small green trailer into that area.  It's frustrating that the grass is growing like crazy in all of the places where I can't get any equipment in to harvest it, while the hay-field lays nearly dormant.

The foxes are still around, hunting for mice and gophers.  We've got some hawks now too, so our wildlife refuge seems to be getting more populated on a nearly daily basis!  One of these days I hope to have a camera ready when the foxes come by!  The cat is getting a little more tolerant of the dog, though she still hisses at him if he gets too close or moves too fast.  This morning she actually came up and rubbed up against him while I was holding him, so it seems she's getting to be OK with him so long as he isn't bouncing around like some kid who's Ritalin has worn off.  ;)

I'm worried about Charles though; He seems to have a bad itchy-spot on his right hind leg, and he's chewed himself down to raw flesh there!  He's got some scar-tissue and proud-flesh (as I recall from my pre-vet experiences) a little lower down, but what we saw today was fresh.  We applied a thick coating of Polysporin to the wound, and will have to keep an eye on him to see if things get any worse.  He seems fine, not showing any signs of lameless or other concerns, but that wound still looks pretty awful.
