Electricity at Last!!!

Mom and I made it safely back to Shaunavon on Sunday, and things have (as usual) been crazy-busy since.  We had a small Family-Only Birthday celebration for The Teenager (notice the upgrade) on Sunday evening, and on Monday one of his closest friends came over for a trip to Swift Current for a fancier Bday supper and a sleep-over.  IE: A stay-up-all-night-playing-video-games-event.  At least, it would have been all night had I not chased them both to the bedrooms and sleep at 2:30am.  Not everyone has a week off, some of us had to work in the morning (mumblegrumble...)

On Tuesday I got hold of Melhoff Electric in Swift Current to see if they were actually going to come out this week, and they said that they would actually come out today (Wednesday!)  This was great news, except that I now had to quickly move a very heavy and cumbersome industrial air-compressor to the other side of a pony-wall in my shop.  Andy came over to lend a hand, and between the two of us we managed to wrestle it over using a furniture dolly.  The biggest problem is that this type of compressor is extemely top-heavy, and there was one brief second of panic when I thought it was going to fall; Thankfully Andy's pretty strong for his size!

The electricians were supposed to phone me as they were leaving Swift Current so that I could meet them at the shop.  Someone didn't pass that information on to the two who came out though, as they didn't call me until they were in Shaunavon!  If I get charged for the extra 1/2-hour of them sitting there waiting for me, I'm going to raise a stink about it.  In any case, it took them about an hour to get the air-compressor hooked up at Iron Pony, and then it was over to the bowling alley to get the Perfect-Fry machine hooked up, as well as a couple of regular 110V drops for the microwave and other kitchen gadgets.  That job took them three hours (11:20am to 2:20pm.)  Everything seems to be powering-up OK, though the real test of the deep-fryer is going to have to wait until I get back from Edmonton next Tuesday.

The only real fly in the ointment right now is still dealing with this GST Audit stuff.  I faxed over an 8-page report this evening, hoping that it's the correct information.  I should find out tomorrow, once the auditor has a chance to look it over.  I expect she'll want more information, but at least this will let me know if I'm on the right track.  :/
