Update on heel pain mystery and new problem!

Farrier came yesterday and she still tested positive to the hoof tester on her heels and he said she has actual bruising! He said the last farrier tried to make a shoe that was too big fit her by bending the bars of the shoe in more which put too much pressure on her heel. He also said her heel was uneven from where the guy trimmed one more than the other and that will take awhile to grow out but good news is that no navicular! Yay happy dance! He said if she did have navicular, its only very very very slight but since this lameness came on two weeks after the last farrier, then this is more than likely the issue.

New issue: She has to be sedated to do her hinds. This stems also from the last farrier who undid all the hard work me and her first farrier did as far as working with her to be better. Yes, she has to have back shoes.  I changed farriers b/c I moved. The last guy I had (before the idiot) worked with her and right before I left, I didnt even have to hold her for him to shoe her. Last night, she wouldnt let the new farrier even touch her hinds w/o trying to kick him. He tried everything. He never got mad though (i love him!) but after a long struggle, she had one hind shoe on but it hasnt even been touched and the other is barefoot...he couldnt finishing nailing the shoe b/c she would pull it away from him and swing it in front of her other hind with the ends if the nails almost slicing her leg open each time.  So I said to come back later after I have a chance to get some drugs from the vet. She is dangerous to me, the farrier, and herself.

Problem: she hates shots. Usually when I give her vaccinations, I do the neck twitch and get it over with quick while trying to keep my feet away but she has caught on. So today when I had to give her the adaquan shot, I separated the needle and did the tap, tap, tap stab with my hand and of course, she didnt notice but when I brought the syringe up to screw it in, she freaked out then....I worked with her and got it done FINALLY but i really feel like she is dangerous. Suggestions to getting her over the needle shy? I wish I had some blinders or something.  I kept the syringe and plan on bring it out every single day and pretend to give her a shot.......any other suggestions?
