I am finding it quite amusing that no Bush supporter I have spoken to has been able to tell me ONE good thing he has done while in office (other than the Hussein capture). People come up with some pretty interesting answers though. Here's one I have recieved a lot:
"Well, he passed that tax cut where everyone got a check in the mail."
And here's the answer to that:
"That's right, he did. Of course, families in the middle class and below, on average, recieved less than $300 while the upper class recieved checks for well into the five digit range...but that's fair, right...giving the rich people more money that the ones who really need the cash? And, of course, there was really no money available for these "generous" tax cuts, so he just increased the national deficit (it tripled while he was in office, btw). And since then, he has raised taxes on social security, real estate, property, as well as the federal percentage rates the government takes out of your paycheck. And he has also outsourced more jobs in the US, so the deficit is only increasing which means taxes will keep climbing. So, what did you do with your $150 check, cuz I know mine went right back into the system 10-fold."
Most people respond with a, "Whatever. He's one of the best presidents we have ever had, and I'm glad he got re-elected."
Lots of not-so-intelligent people in this country.
