Un (pron. een) - I am still suffering the after-effects of the Cold Of Doom. This is Day Twelve and I'm still slightly croaky and sinusy and coughy. And VERY VERY BORED of feeling poorly.
Dau (pron. die) - I have a new baby laptop. She is red, called Ruby and has an 11.6" screen. Light and thin and supposedly capable of 8 hours' battery life. She cost more than I'd intended to spend, but my argument is that I need a portable, reliable laptop for conferences etc. Also, she is pretty.
Tri (pron. tree) - The new car has grown on me, and has been named Matilda. (I name most of the inanimate objects with which I spend any amount of time. This is possibly a symptom of a deep-seated something, but I don't care. It means that I can address them politely when I'm talking to them.)
Pedwar (pron. pedwar) - Went to a conference last week. Tweeted some of the sessions from The Ood Phone, which was sort of fun, but also challenging and distracting. It would have been easier to do it on a laptop (which I can now do, thanks to Ruby's arrival). I do have more professional contacts on Twitter as a result of it, though. A bit of uni-related kerfuffle arose during the conference, which I may post about later in order to get it straight in my head; it was quite amusing in a way, but could potentially cause me a little bit of a problem if things go in an awkward direction. Fingers crossed.
Pump (pron. pimp) - I am growing things again. My garden (yarden, really, since it's just a small concrete yard) has been tidied and swept and is gradually being populated with pots containing seeds and seedlings. I also have a little mini-greenhouse, thanks to the parents-in-law. If I'd got myself organised sooner, it would have pepper/chilli plants in it, but I think it's too late to grow from seed now. Saw some jalapeno plants in the garden centre yesterday, though, and might have to give them a go.
Chwech (pron. Er. I have no idea how to write the way to pronounce "ch" in Welsh. It's like the "ch" in loch or Bach. The "we" bit is pronounced as the "whe" in "when") - Remember Matilda, the new car which I have owned for four weeks and has been back the dealer twice already? The engine light came on AGAIN yesterday. If they don't get it right this time they can bloody well buy it back from me. I'm not putting up with this malarkey for very long.
