Review: It has to be hard to write for this pairing as they are a background pairing in the books and what we know about them is only motivated by the plot. I like that this author has given some thoughts to hobbies and dreams both Magnus and Alec may have had were they not forced into the roles they were.
I love the theme of the story and how they went about it and highschool friends pining over each other is always a bonus. There is self harm and an attempted suicide. Even though the character claimed he hadn’t meant to actually die being so close to it means that it counts in my book.
I will say all the dark parts of this story had more of the sense of a bad dream than anything truly troubling. The depression comes and goes rather suddenly but I can see how that works with the character’s personality, being so reserved till the point that he cracks.
If you are looking for something with a unique story and loads of adorable Malec this is a great fic.
