Hanging On

Mar 20, 2012 14:18

It's been two weeks since my last post.  All I can say is that I'm hanging on.  Saw the surgeon today and I'm doing well.  I've moved from a cast to a boot and will spend the next couple of weeks transitioning off of crutches.  The boot provides a stable support system for my ankle join and a stable surface for walking on.  At this point, I'm sore and cranky but that's pretty standard for the day of a major change like this.

I'll be in the boot for 2 to 4 weeks, and then will transition to a lighter support and start physical therapy.  At that point, I'll also be able to start driving again.  So, potentially by early or mid April, I can get sort of back to normal.  I'm still planning on taking it very easy for a while longer -- no plans to go to Beltane in early May, and still not sure about going to Tennessee in mid May.  If I DO go, I'll probably fly there rather than driving.

I'm trying to hold onto the fact that this is amazing progress.  I'm trying to be grateful for all the love and support even if I'm not feeling it right now.  I'm trying to remember that this is temporary.
