I remember the laughter, the tears, the time my roommate brought home that guy dressed as David Bowie circa Ziggy Stardust.

Okay, well maybe the last one didn't happen, but there's still a week left here.

Today marked the first in a two-day move-out spree from this beautiful Jarvis & Carlton location. It has been 10 months, but it has been good. Finally I had a place I could call roach-free (both the insect kind from Wellesley and the non-insect kind found at Carleton University). To get to Los Angeles you need to cut off the loose ends, and that meant this pricey apartment I shared with Julia.

Before I continue, let's remember together...

Remeber that bright sunshiney day that I found this place?

Remeber when I stood in my future bedroom looking scummy and particularly unenthused?

Remember that time when it was winter and my neighbourhood looked especially peaceful?

Remeber that time you peed in my toilet?

Yes, good times were had by all. A week Tuesday I will move the final pieces out of the place and move on. Some of my stuff is being stored at my future apartment, living with Gemma -- the sister to my present roommate, Julia. Her new place is definitely a step down in terms of class (we live next to the homeless shelter), but it is a lot more spacious and a whole lot cheaper, which will hopefully allow me to recoup after this Los Angeles ordeal.

I went out with my parents today for Father's Day dinner. It was good to see them and great that they lent me a hand in moving my stuff. Always helpful, they are.

Tomorrow I'll begin exploring my flight options for Los Angeles. Let's hope that things don't start to fall apart now that the date is approaching...
