Supernatural Super Women Panel

Nov 12, 2007 00:28

the_evident & mizzmarvel told me I should just post my pictures, and since only 3 people voted, they win.

I'm skipping to the end, since it's the only remaining panel I have to cover that I have all the pictures for.

This panel was pretty much all Lucy, all the time. Because, well, LUCY LAWLESS. There were a few other folk on stage, though, including Allison DuBois (the actual person on whom Patricia Arquette's show Medium is based), Jenni Baird (Australian actress currently on The 4400), and Lisa Klink (sci-fi writer known mostly for her work on Star Trek: Voyager, I think). Marti Noxon (writer/producer of Buffy, Angel, Grey's, Private Practice, etc.) arrived late to the panel, and I got some pictures of her, too.

Lucy:
I can barely remember what they talked about any more. How sad is that? Let's see, she mentioned that she is riveted by The Bachelor. She talked about how gay fans are always coming up to her & asking that she just give them a chance ("Hey, wanna go to Vermont?" became a running joke at the panel). She talked about how she visited one fan who had a terminal illness when she was on her deathbed, who apparently thought that Lucy actually was Xena.

At this point, Lucy's cell phone went off, and she made horrible "who would have their cell phone on?" faces. It was, of course, her phone.

And then Jenni piped up and was all, 'oh, now you owe everyone [some type of alcohol that I forget]!' and Lucy was all, 'no, on my set it's [some other type of alcohol that I forget]! oh, wait, I don't have a set anymore...' and then they had this little mock Aussie-vs-Kiwi thing going for a bit, and it was cute.

A fan asked for her name placard, which Lucy signed & gave to her.

Lucy was simultaneously fascinated & freaked out by Allison DuBois' description of being a psychic. (This is where the "Hey, wanna go to Vermont?" joke came back into play.)

Lucy & Allison:

Lucy applauding at the end of the panel:

Lisa Klink was pretty quiet at the panel, pretty much speaking only when she was asked a direct question:

Jenni Baird:
I liked her right off, which is always a surprise for me, since I am so damn critical. I really need to watch The 4400.

Allison DuBois had almost as many fans there as Lucy, which was surprising to me. She was the first one who was asked to sign her name placard for a fan.

Marti Noxon! She was running late (something to do with the fact that she took the train, I think), and she arrived all rushed & breathless, and started gulping water pretty much as soon as she sat down. I was sad she didn't arrive sooner, as the panel might not have been quite so Lucy-dominated. XD

One of the questions (from a young girl) was to the panel, in general, asking how they got into the biz. Lucy basically said, 'well, what do you want to do? if you want to be an actress, be an actress.' AND THEN Marti was all, 'no, be a writer!' and it was GR8.

After the panel, everyone was milling about the stage, as usual, and I saw Marti & Lisa chatting up on the stage, but I couldn't get a clear shot. :(
