Observation Deck - Day 45 (Afternoon) - Very open.

Jul 17, 2010 23:37

He had made some very unflattering choices over the past few months, that he knew. Reflecting on them was not something he was unused to, but starting to grow weary over. Standing in front of the large viewing window on the observation deck, the Vulcan Commander had his arms crossed over his chest instead of behind his back. Uncomfortable not only with his actions but himself, he realized that it had been a number of days since he had been able to fully meditate. That would have to change, and soon.

For now, he stood looking out of the window impassively, not really seeing the stars or various planets they were passing by. Spock knew that they were there, he did not need to see them to know that. And perhaps he needed to apply that principle to his personal life - acknowledge the presence of people yet not quite focus on them. Distance may, perhaps, be key to seeing ways in which to get things back into order. Personal drama, he was being very liberal in calling it personal as he was not the only being involved in quite a few matters, had no place in his working life and he vowed to resolve as much of it as he could.

Spending his free time observing space, alone, was something he was slowly getting used to, instead of playing chess in the recreation room. That would also have to change.
