Today I braved the heat (it was 34 with 60% humidity when I left the house) to go downtown and see the Kasukabe summer festival. I got there while they were setting up and took some pictures of the portable shrines (called Mikoshi). Yesterday began the second half of my Golden Week.

Well Golden Week has begun here in Japan. What is Golden Week you might ask, well it's a series of holidays at the end of April and begining of May, that give you almost a week off straight.

So, I've been introducing myself to the classes at the school. During the intros to the 3rd years (Gr.9s by NA standards) they were supposed to take notes, then they had to write 3 questions for me and finally write a bit about themselves. They were also supposed to sketch a drawing of me.

Last Sunday (April 17th) I went into Tokyo to see Sucker Punch and visit Harajuku. I'd been before, but never on a weekend, when it's supposedly really hopping.
