harrydracompreg Prompt #21 - high risk pregnancy/bedrest. This is a sequel to Not Named.
Summary: Third time's a charm, right?

Harry returned to Draco's room at St Mungo's, moving quietly so as not to disturb his husband. Harry gazed down at Draco, wondering how he managed to appear both exhausted and serene. Harry tiptoed around the bed to peer into the baby's cot. Their newborn son was also sleeping peacefully, and Harry gave in to the urge to stroke the baby's soft cheek.

It had been a difficult pregnancy for Draco, and he had been confined to bed rest for the final five weeks. The baby had still arrived early, but not so soon as to be dangerous. While Draco had grown bored and cranky during his enforced convalescence, Harry had been left to take care of the other children. Lea was nearly two and was getting into everything, while Jed was still a baby himself and at the stage where he shoved everything into his mouth. Harry had sometimes wished he'd been the one sentenced to bed rest, but that was all behind them now. In a few days, Draco would return home with the newest addition to their family.

Harry feathered his fingers over his son's head. It was too bad that this one was destined to be named after Lucius, but Harry had promised Draco that if he carried their next child and had a boy, he could name him after his father. Draco had more than earned that privilege after the ordeal of his high risk pregnancy. Harry took a measure of comfort from the fact that the baby's fuzz appeared reddish in color. It would serve Lucius Malfoy right to have a ginger grandson named after him.

Harry and Draco had agreed on the baby's name well ahead of his birth. This time, there would be no disasters such as Birdsfoot Trefoil or Not James Frederick. Draco had insisted they refer to their daughter as Azalea, and Harry persisted in shortening it to Lea. Either was an improvement over Birdsfoot, which Harry had inadvertently named her due to a careless mistake. Draco had been the one to flub the name James Frederick when arguing with Harry over it. They now referred to him as Jed. With this child, however, there would be no error.

"Third time's a charm," Harry whispered to his sleeping son.

"Harry?" Draco mumbled from the bed as he opened his eyes and struggled to focus.

"I'm here, love," said Harry. "Do you need anything?"

"I want to see the baby," said Draco, struggling to sit up. Harry helped his husband into an upright position and mounded pillows behind him for support. "Why are there so many pixies in my room?" Draco asked, frowning slightly.

Harry cleared his throat to cover a chuckle. Draco must still be feeling the effects of the potion he'd been given when the baby had to be delivered via incision. "They're helpful pixies," Harry said. He moved to the cot and carefully picked up his son, exhaling in relief when the baby didn't wake up. Harry sat in the comfortable chair beside Draco's bed and angled himself so that Draco could get a good look at the infant.

"He's beautiful," whispered Draco.

Harry beamed.

"Just like a Malfoy," Draco added.

Harry's smile slipped. "He needs a name," he said, hoping to distract Draco from taking all the credit for their son's appearance.

"You told me I could name this one," Draco said sharply. His bleary eyes pinned Harry with a suspicious glare.

Harry nodded to put his husband at ease. "I did say that, love," he agreed. "You may name our son whatever you wish."

It was Draco's turn to beam. "I'm going to name him after my father," he said.

Magic shimmered and swirled through the room before dissipating. Harry went rigid, but Draco didn't seem to notice anything amiss. "Our son's name is Lucius Chadwyn Malfoy-Potter," he announced with pride.

Harry didn't have the heart to tell his husband that their baby's official name was not Lucius.

"This is a travesty!" cried Draco.

Harry cringed, but none of the children stirred from where they were napping upstairs.

"How could you let this happen?" Draco went on, pointing an accusing finger at Harry.

"You insisted on naming him," Harry protested. "How was I to know you'd say something like that?"

"I was still befuddled with potions, you dolt!" snapped Draco. "You never should have trusted me to speak clearly."

Harry was beginning to get irritated. "So this is all my fault now, is it?"

Draco responded by flinging his hands up in the air. He paced back and forth, which was no mean feat, considering that he had to shuffle slowly from one end of the room to the other. Draco paused long enough to mutter, "How am I to tell my parents that our baby is named After My Father Malfoy-Potter?"
