Rick looked up from his laptop, blinking.
"CornNuts don't count? I mean, corn! Nuts!"
Alexis put a sandwich on a plate down next to her father.
"Don't make me break out the carrot sticks."
He gave her a mock glare. "Meanie. You headed out?"
"Yeah, Marcy and I are going to head to Central Park, hijack a horse and carriage and moon the tourists in Times Square."
"So the library again then."
"How about I promise to eat a granola bar loudly?" she tossed off on her way out.
"You're a rebel, sweetie..."
