Dollhouse Fic: Threat Assessment
Written for dollhouseflash Challenge #009 - Threat
Title: Threat Assessment

"What about this one? Friend or foe?"
Fingers that had been tapping on a polished steel desktop stilled, tracing the outline of a face on the computer screen as if to commit it to memory by touch.
"He's new... Let me look at his file."
Those same fingers flew over the keyboard, breaking through firewalls, tunneling through a network, sneaking in to grab a copy of a file then erasing all traces on the way out before disconnecting. Once the purloined employee file was up on the screen, the man sat back in his chair.
"I know he used to work LAPD: a detective."
"It says here he was a highly decorated homicide and robbery detective, promoted from the SWAT team where he also taught tactical operations part time at the police academy. So he's smart, disciplined and talented in combat."
The fingers went to the mouse and scrolled through the file.
"Military background - well, that's not unexpected. No family to speak of, widowed in his early thirties... Wait a second..."
Two sets of eyes focused on the section blown up by the software's zoom feature.
"FBI? Why would he be listed as an FBI informant?"
A sly smile crossed a self-satisfied face. "Corruption. I bet if we poked deep within the FBI's files we'd find that our new handler was a whistleblower when the FBI was investigating LAPD for corruption." Alpha turned to face his associate. "I say friend. He may not know it yet, but this Boyd Langton is our kind of man. Get to know him. Take your time though; he'll come to you, I know it. Let him and report to me where his true loyalties lie: to the Dollhouse or to the Dolls."
Claire nodded her agreement.
"Understood."
