I've heard people say that places like AVEN are places people go to hide from their sexuality; they go there to be 'indoctrinated' somehow into not being sexual people, beacuse they're cut off from all other options. As David Jay says - you don't go to AVEN and just stop talking.

I went to see them today - I got to talk about sexuality and the various out-lying related subjects with three other women for almost two hours. I love it. Over and over again, I see asexuality boiled down to two words - 'no sex'. This isn't correct.

Gay people should *not* be defined by who or how they sleep with someone, although it happens. But you can understand - someone is not straight just because they have slept with someone of the opposite sex. Someone is not gay just beacuse they sleep with ( Read more... )
