I remember the days when I would've felt guilty about that too. Long gone. ;) I say enjoy the trip and any perks that come with it. Consider it compensation for all the extra hours you put in (not to mention for all the ways big and small the company will almost inevitably screw you over on sooner or later). Sorry to sound so jaded, but cubicle life at what I once considered a "dream company" has crushed the stars from my eyes bit by bit as far as the rat race is concerned.

Glad to hear your colleagues are getting to know you better. :) Have you seen Wicked, btw? It's a hilarious, wonderfully bittersweet look at how much it sucks to be misunderstood. Absolutely brilliant.

I'd say it's more realistic to be jaded. ;-) I tend to be cynical in general when it comes to work in the corporate world, but this place seems to at least stick to business ethics even if I secretly feel my dept gets the short end of the stick at times. I would have an extremely difficult time tolerating a company that knowingly cheats consumers just to turn a big profit.

Don't worry, I'm getting over the guilt. :-) I just wish I actually had time to enjoy the perks -- the workshops last the entire day and I'm afraid I'm not much of a nightlife sort of person. And I suck at mingling...

I haven't seen Wicked, but I've caught excerpts on various television programs. Maybe I'll read the book instead if the tour doesn't drop by my town anytime soon.
