Christmas List!

Nov 15, 2010 00:38

If you need my address, just PM me, and don't forget, I'm just as happy with voice posts/comments/emails/letters/postcards as with gifts. It's good just hearing from people! If you've already got an address for me, double-check the postcode - if it begins with an M it's out of date, and I need to give you the new address :)!

WISHLIST MEME:

Step One:
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Dean icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two:
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.
- You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
- There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Fanart, fanfiction, icons or podfic! Especially for any of the following fandoms: Devil May Cry, Digital Devil Saga, Final Fantasy VII, Good Omens, Legacy of Kain , Legion, Shadow of Memories, Sherlock (BBC miniseries), Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, and Supernatural. Also, I'm an attention h00r, so anything based on any of my own stories would make me explode.

2. Scents! I adore gifts of incense, candles, perfumes and bath/soap goodies. I'm not particularly keen on most florals or the majority of fruits, but almost anything else goes - vanilla, honey, lemon/lemongrass, spices, bergamot, jojoba, rose, sea/watery/fern scents... and I have an extreme weakness for the following;
- Anything BPAL with the exceptions of The Forest Reverie, Magdalene and The Raven. Special love for Queen Mab, Cthulhu and Lightning.
- L'Occitane's Honey and Lemon range except for Shimmering Eau de Toilette.
- Anything Lush.

3. Cat food! A friend of mine has been going through a rough time financially, and I figured people might be willing to donate cat food so she doesn't have to worry about feeding her pets. If so, donations of any of the following - "Purina Cat Chow - Indoor Cat formula, or occasionally Meow Mix or Friskies" - would be welcome, and you can PM me for the address (it's a different mailing address to mine, btw - she's in the U.S. while I'm in the U.K.).

4. Socks! An eternal entry on my Christmas list - my heels appear to be part diamond, and wear through socks at a rate of knots. Stripes and spots are especially welcome; largest size you can get them in, please, as I have big feet (UK size 8).

5. Waterproof notepads! I like to write in the bath, but with regular paper, this is occasionally disastrous XD.

6. Paid time! I love LJ to bits, for all its flaws, and it's always welcomed (btw, although it's a sweet thought, no extra userpics please - I just don't use them enough for it to be worthwhile)!

7. Teas and coffees! No fruit-flavoured ones, just spices or different regions or roasts. Loose leaf/ground coffee is fine, as is bagged/instant - I just love trying different types. Oh! And the stronger the better :).

8. Recipes! I love to cook; the only things I suck at are things that require a delicate touch - omelettes, spun sugar - but anything that requires careful timing, patience etc, I can do. The only foodstuffs I categorically hate are stews and seafood, and I have no deadly allergies, just a few discomforting ones.

9. Anything off my wishlist! Here on Amazon, though you are more than welcome to buy anything on there from other places if you're boycotting Amazon over any one of their numerous fails - their wish list system just happens to be pretty nifty.

10. Treat yourselves! And tell me about it. I've already got everything I need in life; everything else from this point on is just a want. I'd love you all to be in the same position at the very least. *hugs*
