I haven't posted much lately, but it isn't because I haven't been doing anything...
last Wednesday
I met up with friends at the Asian Art Museum here in San Francisco where they have a temporary show of old Japanese paintings about off-beat subjects entitled Drama and Desire (some porn, but also fashion plates, humor, and some horror stories all from hundreds of years ago).  I also wanted to see some ancient Japanese burial figures which tie in to some of the work I've been doing in ceramics:

these are all much larger than my figures, they are all 3-4 feet tall while mine are more like 4-8 inches.

We had lunch at the Asian Art Museum (which was disappointing, they were much better when I ate there before), and then walked over to a near by theater to see High School Musical which is cute, but light weight... but we had to go because one of my friend's niece's boyfriend was in it....  and of course it is always fun to go out with friends!

I also read the latest of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden Files:  Small Favor, which I really enjoyed (it ends more strongly than it starts).

I've been watching lots of TV:
Doctor Who:  I LOVE Donna, best companion ever!
House: back on the air, with lots of sexual tension as House and Amber (the Manipulative Bitch) fight over Dr. Wilson!

Mostly it is the same old same old...  I saw my chiropractor today for my on going back and hip problems, and tomorrow I'll go to the Farmers' Market w/a friend to get nice (and inexpensive) locally grown produce, then on Friday I'll go to ceramics class.  I'm enjoying the beauty of living here where the climate is always mild.

book, tv, ceramics
