It should be noted that I hate hand sewing, and hand sewing hates me! But its necessary at times. I just finished sewing the binding on to my sister's Elizabethan corset. It turned out okay, but it was a fight! I still have to put eyelets in it, but otherwise its ready to go. We took the pattern out of the Tudor Tailor and sized it up. The tabbed ( Read more... )

So, I didn't like how my first round of embroidery looked on the smock cuffs, so I tore it all out and started over. I'm liking the look of the chain stitch much better.

I have 99% of my high-necked smock cut out and ready to go. The collar and the sleeves haven't been cut out yet, because I need to embroider them first. This is my first time doing hand embroidery for a project, so we'll see how it all goes. I'm hoping well, since the design is a relatively simple (but pretty) one!
