Last week: Brought Toshiba laptop into repair shop because it decided to stop recognizing/booting from the battery. Bought a new battery and even though it appeared to be charging, the computer still wouldn’t boot up on battery power. Unplug it and it instantly shuts off. I was going to run some errands yesterday, but I started my car and a yellow warning light came on and stayed on. A quick check of the user's manual showed that it was the EPS, or electronic power steering, icon. If restarting the car didn't reset it, the problem should be checked out by the Honda dealer. Unexpectedly, I have a longer holiday vacation than I anticipated. The powers-that-be at my workplace decided that Tuesday and Wednesday of this week would be devoted to ripping out the existing microscopic-sized cubicles and replacing them with larger office spaces (why they didn't do it over a weekend when no one was there is beyond me). Update 4/1/08: The replacement keyboard arrived, I installed it myself, and it works! Hooray! (Too bad the repair manual I ordered was out of stock.)
