I knew that it was now or never.
I was advertising Dyr on the PC last night, wanting to see the kind of offers I could receive for her. I feel like there is an excess of darigan UCs -- which I don't fancy too much, because somehow, while I like purple and red, those colours together just look so … gaudy. There was also a sense of déjà vu: most offers were no different from what I received when I put Vulpixx up for trade, except there was a better turnout. Still, I considered some offers that I felt I could keep as a permanent-ish pet and could also help me get what I wanted if I decide to re-trade. Then I saw a board advertising a UC grey Ixi. I checked it out, all prepared to offer Dyr and be declined, because most people with the Ixis want offers from the higher, more exclusive and ~elite tiers, due to their popularity. (It's not difficult to see why that is [under Old Poses]. But in general, UC Ixis are ridiculously popular. The poses are all different, and well … the converted ones look like bobbleheads.) Imagine my surprise, then, when the Ixi up for trade was the same Ixi from this post! (It didn't work out between us, obviously.) The new owner wasn't looking for high-tiered UCs (I think), which is understandable: typically, a pet -- UC or converted -- with a name that's less than stellar (think lots of underscores and numbers, a pet that has the name of another species in their name, etc.) tend not to trade for higher-valued pets (even in spite of their popularity) and will trade down for pets with better names. I seized the chance and offered, and the new owner, after some consideration, accepted! They're smitten with Dyr, which is just as wonderful. So, as it is, I'm done with pet trading. There might come a time that I'll consider another UC (which doesn't seem likely -- the rest don't appeal to me so much other than a select few [which happen to be of a lower value, too], but even so …), but for now, I am done. I'll still hang out on the PC, however -- I kinda like the place, even if the rampant use of "an UC" makes me twitch). I also seem to get more responses there than I do on the NC boards, so … -shrugs-
My latest undertaking is reorganising my GIFs folder. It's a mess. I did have some folders, but some just spiralled out of control. (I have 1,200+ GIFs from movies and television shows.) This is the rundown:
I'm not done because I have those two aforementioned behemoths and another smaller one to deal with. Small steps.
I also watched Dark Shadows on Thursday. I've written points down for the review -- all that's left is putting them into coherent sentences. It should be up by tomorrow or Tuesday at the very latest. Generally, however, I didn't like it: I found it uninspired and exhausted.
