OMIGOD JOY. CANNOT EVEN.

WTF. WTF. I HATE BEING LATE TO THE PARTY. I AM ALSO NOT REALLY COHERENT RIGHT NOW. BUT BUT BUT HAD TO FLAIL. WHO CARES THAT IT'S 4.16 IN THE MORNING AND I HAVE TO BE AT WORK IN FOUR HOURS.

*AVOIDS SPOILERY ICON* because everyone else has been so good to me! ;)

Okay, so it took me AGES to get around to watching all the episodes and catching up, but I FINALLY DID. I watched all of them, AND OMIGOD, SHOW, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME. I am... grooving on the new season SO MUCH. The writing, the characters - I actually really liked Season 4, don't get me wrong. I LOVED House!Survivor and the double whammy of House's Head and Wilson's Heart was still... some of the best storytelling I've seen on television ever. Maybe the episodes haven't quite hit the peak of that double whammy just yet, but EEK.

I can barely organise my thoughts, so I'll just... flail at random.

- I LOVED 5X04. BIRTHMARKS. OMFG. The road trip, and the funeral, and the House/Wilson dynamic just... working itself out. It was fantastic. I LOVE that House's ringtone for Wilson is "Dancing Queen by Abba", and that it's Mmmbop for the D2s. I love what an ass House was throughout the ENTIRE episode. Perfect. Whether it was dumping Wilson's keys, whining at the police station, everything. It just came together WONDERFULLY. I think this might actually be my favourite episode this season so far, because of how well they really explored the friendship between these two guys, and how Wilson, in the end, had to admit that he needs House too, for the entertainment and for the... fun times. That was just lovely, because their estrangement was not sitting well with me, nope. D:

- 5x05 Lucky 13: OKAY I REALLY LIKE 13 NOW. You know what, I actually LOVE the direction they're taking with the D2s this season. This is what they should have done, give them proper characters and voices and develop them beyond some paper-thin stereotypes that seemed awfully close to the original set of Ducklings. 13's downward spiral = fun times. I LOVE KUTNER. OMIGOD. I LOVE HOW SMART HE IS. With the 'steamrollered' thing and how he turns up and GETS IT. How dorkily pleased was I by how shocked Chase was, since he ALSO nailed that interpretation of House's comment and HE'S the one who proved himself to be the smartest Duckling in the end, the one closest to House's level of wacky genius? Also, HAI, GUESS WHAT. I ACTUALLY LIKED FOREMAN... I think, for the first time in YEARS. Ha ha, you so boring, Foreman! (I LOVED the little discussion between Chase and Foreman and how wonderfully honest Chase was. ILU, CHASE.) But I like how he spoke to 13, and stuck up for her, and tried to help her. (Please do not be making me ship them. Although it might be a little too late, aieee.) This even makes me feel a little less bitter about the fact that the cast is just so ridiculously huge now and I still feel they should have jettisoned the original trio (even though I STILL HAVE A RIDICULOUS LOVE FOR FLOPPY-HAIRED, BLONDE, DEEPLY ADORABLE AND SNARKY CHASE - oh no, I don't play favourites AT ALL).

- AND THEN 5X06 JOY. WHAT EVEN IS THAT. I CANNOT. CANNOT. ARGH. NO WORDS.

- Okay, I'll try. The episode itself felt a little uneven - I did not much like the POTW this week (perhaps I wasn't supposed to, since he and his daughter was zombified, relentlessly unhappy people) and could not get into that part of the story... but oh god, Cuddy and Joy. *weeps* Lisa Edelstein, why do you not yet have an Emmy? Or twenty? OR A HUNDRED? She killed me in a million different ways with Finding Judas, we all know this and admit it to be true. But here... it was amazing, considering how little screen time was really devoted to her story. But she broke my heart in a million little pieces when she begged for Joy to cry, and when Joy cried, and when the mother decided she couldn't give Joy up after all. I didn't... I wasn't even sure if I wanted Joy to enter into the series in any way, because can we say JUMPING THE SHARK. But the way they set this up was just... argh. Fucking sucker punch to the GUT.

- Just LOOK at Lisa's face. LOOK AT IT.

- Also, can I say that our ship is fucking ridiculously good-looking. I am SO CONFUSED when Hugh and Lisa are in the same scene together, because every other minute I'm just going, OH GOD HUGH YOU ARE AMAZING/SEXY/HOT ETC and then the next I am going AIEEEE LISA WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY BRAIN. Again, just LOOK AT THEM:

How BEAUTIFUL is Lisa here. I love it when she gets ANGRY.

ROWR.

- And then ARGH THE KISS. PART ONE OF THE KISS, because it went on for so long and was SO AWESOME:

Icons:

It was... I won't say 100% rip-your-clothes-off sexy or steamy - certainly not the up-against-the-wall crazy-rough-sex kiss we... *ahem* occasionally... like to imagine. But I think this just worked SO MUCH BETTER. I love that she was furious at him, and hurting, and then he looked at her - JUST LOOKED AT HER - and you could see her face change when she realised that something was different, that... yes, House WAS going to kiss her. AIEEEEEEEEEEE. HE INITIATED IT. This, in itself, makes it that much more interesting and just... RIGHT for me. Because I always have thought that House, with his self-loathing and almost pathological need for misery and bitterness, would always hesitate to make the first move unless he was DEAD CERTAIN Cuddy would reciprocate and that she was doing so for the right reasons. Not that I'm saying a lot of thought or premeditation went into this moment on House's part. He just... looked at her, and he HAD to kiss her, it was just that simple. I love how the kiss was HOT but also... just a little bit awkward - they're coming to it fresh, for one thing, after years of bickering and bantering and flirting. But the awkwardness, I felt, came more from the fact that this WASN'T just a kiss fuelled purely by drink or lust or whatever. It was... deeper than that. He needed her. He owed her. And so he kissed her.

Yeah. I think that's really it. How it was... them. Complicated, messy, hot, sexy, needy and just a little bit weird. Everything in one. God. And you know what moment I actually loved MORE than the kiss itself? When they broke apart, but didn't quite pull apart - JUST before they fully realised what they'd done and he said good night and jackrabbited out of her house, there was a moment when she pulled back, just a TINY bit, and they both... lingered in the aftermath of the kiss, and it was BEAUTIFUL:

And the best part about having two of the best actors in the biz on this show and in my ship? You can see from their SIDE PROFILES (i.e., they weren't facing the camera) the moment when they both take a proper breath, and go, "Urm. What the FUCK have we done." And realised that their relationship and chemistry has just been blown... shall we say... a LITTLE bit out of whack by this. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE NOW WTF. HOW ARE WE TO WAIT TWO WEEKS.

I also finally got to see all the things you guys had been posting about, like the PROMO (EEEEK) and also the interview and alternate take on the kiss. GOD HOW FUCKING HOT IS THIS VERSION OF THE KISS. I know it's just differently filmed angles, but this one was just... ASKJDALDJALSJDLASJDLASJDLA.

I AM SO GOING TO DIE AT WORK TOMORROW. LATER TODAY, WHATEVER. BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. ASLDJASLDJALDJLA.

Comments tomorrow. I need to SLEEP. But eeeeeeeeeeeeek.
