Tomorrow I drive to North Carolina for my sister's wedding and then a family trip to the Outer Banks. My Prius hasn't come in yet, but the dealership is giving me a loaner car to use, as promised. I'm going to the dealership later today to see what they stick me with let me borrow.
I'm excited about the road trip, though I wish it were in my new car. Stephan is teaching summer session so will fly down for a few days but can stay as long. I'm thrilled about the wedding and look forward to seeing my family and meeting his.
My cat Varda has caught on to the 1/4 blood pressure pill we've been hiding in her food. At first she would pick through her food looking for that darn pill, then she refused to eat her wet food at dinner. We tried giving her food without the pill for a couple of days, but she still wouldn't eat it. Shoving a pill down her throat is really not a good option. I've done it before, but if it were a daily thing it would become miserable for both of us.
Fortunately, Stephan's daughter, who works as a vet tech, gave us a great suggestion to go to an apothecary in town that specializes in things you can't get elsewhere, like putting the medicine in a transdermal gel we can rub in her ear once a day. Varda took her medicine just fine this way yesterday, and ate her wet food too! In spite of the terrible numbers from her last kidney function test, she doesn't act like she's feeling bad. She still runs around and flops over, jumps on top of the refrigerator, etc. I don't know how long this can last but I'm very thankful she is doing ok at least for now.
I'm not sure I'll be posting much from the road, but I may drop in.
