Thank you,
13oct, for reminding me that even though I live a world away from the devastation in the Philippines, I can still help. So I'm passing on that little reminder. If you can help monetarily, then maybe do so. If you can't, I'm sure prayers are welcome and helpful.
How to Help Typhoon Survivors in the Philippines (Chicago Tribune)
How You Can Help Typhoon Haiyan Survivors (USA Today)
Both the Chicago Tribune and USA Today have good lists of different ways you can help and/or donate to help the typhoon survivors in the Philippines. I personally donated to
World Vision and the
American Red Cross. Both are reputable organizations, if helps you to have an endorsement from someone you know :)
There's a lot of different ways you can directly donate to the
Philippine Red Cross too.
