Lots going on this weekend. Decided it was time to finally tackle the tiling project in the bathroom head-on, instead of just pussy-footing around it. So Friday night we finished taking out the sink and ripping off the remaining Formica, and took measurements for what we needed.

This is So not something I wanted to deal with when I signed onto this whole home-ownership type thing. Luckily our South neighbor, he used to be in the anti-pest business. So, just heard back and the seller agreed to fix the roughly 7 or so things we asked them to (not everything on that list I made, that was Everything that the inspection brought up). So that's good news. Now just to finish up the loan documents, wait for the repairs and approval thereof, etc. Things are moving quickly and pretty smoothly, which is ( Read more... )

So, while we're waiting for the sewer to be scoped out, here's a question. The vast majority of the inspection report items are fairly minor/could be fixed with a little bit of money for parts, and some time. So, I was out at the house this late morning for the inspection, and while waiting for it to finish I was walking around the outside of the house. Amazing how different it looks in actual full lighting (as opposed to late evening when I last saw it). And so it begins. We spent this weekend finding, deciding to go forward with, and putting an over on a house. The seller & his realtor meet tonight to discuss the offer we gave them and to see if they want to accept, modify, etc.

Ok, so it's not quite like that but close. Last night was my last class/final of Summer term, which means I've now got roughly a month and a half free until I have to go back to school. So, I've started another one of these. Last time I had one was about 3-4 years ago and I think I lasted about 6 months before I let it die.
