I'm really coming to heart javascript; I think it's mostly because of closures (which, yes, I've met in a number of other languages, but javascript is the only language in popular use that I've seen them in), and maybe a little bit because of prototypal inheritance.

Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age is being made into a miniseries. Sci-Fi did a good job with Dune and Stephenson is involved, so the hope for this is greater than zero.

I have a couple of goals for the weekend, both geeky and work-related: I want to get a development blog set up where I can post publicly about kewpie, and I want to finish the example project in Agile Web Development with Rails.

If you're a Star Wars geek, you're going to have yet another version of the original trilogy to buy this fall. The kicker is that it's the original theatrical version. So, like, Han shoots first, and stuff.

Since I don't own any Star Wars DVDs yet, I'll probably grab this one.

Our friends Orb and Nettie are having a baby this weekend (like, they're inducing labor tomorrow morning), and Orb is chatting on AIM from the hospital.
