One of the cats (I suspect Duncan) has learned how to turn on the kitchen faucet. We are so fucked.

Scout's gone. She'd been in chronic renal failure for a while (we've known about it for a year, and have been treating it at home), and her tiny little body just started seriously giving up this past week. Lyra, the sweetest cat in the known universe, has been diagnosed as having feline leukemia virus. The practical upshot of this is that her immune system is deeply compromised, and there is no treatment available in the US. My iPod is sitting here making a scary whining noise and not powering on, after I came downstairs to find it on the floor, about four feet away from where I had left it. Unfortunately, those were vertical feet.
