Random days of being Miss Rii

Mar 08, 2008 10:30

This happened a week ago.

I was late for work -as usual- and decided to take a short cut accros a field next to the apartment house I live in. I was in a hurry, big time, so I just squirreled forward trying to figure some decent excuses if Pimma wasn't the one in morning shift (she doesn't care if I'm late or not because she isn't a morning person either). On the field there's this kind of deep ditch over which I need to hop in order to get back to the road. When the ditch meets the road and starts following it, it narrows enough for me to jump. But, this time, eh eh heh, I thought I was a some kind of Nathan with the ability of flying since I tried to get over the ditch in a different spot. And, well, yes, the results were quite obvious: I thumped into the ditch with a splash~ Yey. There wasn't much water but it's goddamn March here so the muddy ditch water was heeeeecka icy. Because the winter here hasn't been exactly what I'd call wintery, I've been wearing my autumn wannabe-converses throughout the season. And they're not waterproof. So excellent of me.

I didn't have time to return to home and change the shoes or jeans, so I dragged myself to work with sore toes. After getting through the front door, I stuffed my wet shoes and socks into the hot cupboard we thank god have over there. With bare feet I padded into the locker room only to remember that I had taken my whole change of clothes to home before kindergarten's winter break to get the garments washes. Fucking bloody excellent. For once I had tried to be responsible and grown-up and take care of something and... *sighs* So. I ended up rolling up the trouser legs and being bare-footed. Luckily, I had brought my dog slippers to work so the lack of socks didn't really bother me. As Jeeppa came to work an hour later, she generously lent me a pair -after a good while of reckless giggling, that was.

If the morning wasn't bad enough...

In the afternoon Aada woke up a bit earlier than usually. Lea brought her to the "study room" in which Jeeppa's with Matti while the other kiddos are asleep and in which I pretend to be doing something useful when I'm, in fact, only gossipping with my co-worker.

It was time for a coffee break. Momentarily, we can watch over both of the special kids at the same time, especially if we're in a space with a door *lol* Matti was playing on the floor so Jeeppa took Aada and started helping her to dress while I sneaked out to get a cup of tea. Jeeppa went to visit the kitchen too after I returned and that's when the real fun began ;_;

Matti tried to climb up to the table several times. I tried to prevent him from doing so with a few firm "No!"'s but surprise surprise, that 'tard didn't give a shit. He's quite heavy, at least in my opinion, but that could be because Aada is so tiny that I'm not used to lifting bigger kids, so lifting Matti over and over again tires me quickly... I'm not very fond of handling him physically. Okay, when I saw he had no intension whatsoever obey, I rushed next to the table and grabbed him, placing him back to the floor. I turned my back to continue my search of art supplies when I heard a "THUMP!"... and when I took a look, I saw Matti sprawling on the table. I started to boil. I dragged him down, just to be forced to pull him down again only a few seconds later. I had had enough -I lifted him to my arms and decided to keep him clasped there till Jeeppa's return.

Or not.

Aada had been inching towards the door while I was fighting with the annoying little boy (sorry, Santtu, sometimes he's just a pain in the ass ;__;) and as she saw I was fully concentrated with Matti, he grasped the door knob, pushed the door wide open and stormed into the hallway. ó.ò!

Because Matti is sort of heavy, I dropped him, grabbed his arm and rushed after Aada, dragging the poor boy after me (leaving him was no an option. Jeeppa would've killed me if she had come back only to find his precious little thing skull smashed into pieces on the floor). Just in time I got a glimpse of Aada whizzing to the personnel's locker room. I scurried along, swearing heavily and very audibly. Luckily it was the time of the day when most of the workers' were busy with watching over the sleeping kids or doing laundry, and the morning shifters had already went home. Also, as I passed the break room, I saw no one there. Apparently I and Jeeppa were again the last ones to get their teas/coffees.

There were two trainees in the locker room jabbering nonsense. I smiled at them rather stupidly while catching Aada who had stopped in front of them fascinated by whatever, I didn't really care, I was just happy to see she hadn't started pulling down coats from the racks.

With a kid holding onto both of my hands I started my slow proceed towards the study room. However, Aada moves way faster than Matti, so it wasn't a miracle that when she suddenly pulled my hand a little harder as she was bouncing forward, I nudged and clumsy Matti fell on his arse. I lost my balance for a moment, my grip on Aada loosened -and she ran away again =.0;;

Apparently there's a some sort of God out there after all, since she decided to run straight to the study room on her own.

In the study room it seemed I had survived. Matti found some toy he liked and got lost in his own thoughts and Aada wanted to help me get the art supplies ready.

I was too optimistic.

Only a few crappy seconds later I noticed Aada had disappeared from my side. First, I checked the door was still closed. I blocked it with two chairs so the previous episode wouldn't be repeated. Then, I headed to the small bathroom that's attached to the study room. I found Aada there, playing with the toilet seat.

I ushered her out and gave her some things to do, hoping her to get preoccupied by the idea of being Miss Rii's little helper.

Matti had seen me and Aada coming from the bathroom, because when I moment later saw he had abandoned his toy, I heard splashing noises and when I went to check, he was toying around with the water tab. I dragged him out too. Meanwhile, Aada, as the devil she is, had walked up to the chairs and started moving them, obviously thinking about escaping again. As I marched to stop her, I saw from the corner of my eye how Matti calmly returned to the bathroom. And this went on and on and on...

When Jeeppa finally opened the door and ran into the chairs, I was on the floor, pretty much ready to sob my eyes out with Aada tightly on my side painting and Matti on the table, seemingly happy.

AND ALL THIS TOOK PLACE WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OR LESS.

So you can imagine, it was pretty... intense.

Because God's sense of humor is wicked, I had to continue confronting shit:

As Matti and Aada were finally settled down and focused on painting (themselves, mainly), I heard rippling. I asked Jeeppa if it was only me, but she said she heard it too. Then, we both saw something water-like slowly spreading accross the oilcloth the kids were sitting on... and I realized Aada was peeing there.

I was numbed, but thank god Jeeppa was full of energy. She rushed out the room to return only a seconds later with a rag and a bucket. I lifted Aada onto the rag, cleaned her feet and walked her to the main bathroom in which we have a shower. Because Aada and Matti like splashing paint over each other, they've normally only their underwear on when they're being artistic, so I didn't need to handle pee-ed clothes this time. (to be happy about something...)

The long story short: in the shower Aada got so excited (she loves water) that she accidentally managed to turn the shower on while I was still under. Me, who had no sodding spare clothes with her, got totally soaked. Tiina, who was already going home, passed the bathroom door and saw Aada in the shower. She asked if there were any towels left and promised to bring one for Aada. As she came to hand it over to me, she took one glance at me, disappeared for a moment and came back, grinning, wrapping one around me too.

Well, I had only an hour and a half of work left, so I survived with the most shirt I was wearing, but after that I was so exhausted that when Aada's mother came, she found me and Aada both giggling hysterically.

In the evening I ate lots of chocolate. I felt I had earned it.

LOL I named the title of the cut "incident#1" because I was going to tell you about yesterday too -I hurt my back and it's still aching like hell- but I have a bus to catch and before that I need to check out a couple of other things, so I'm running out of time... And, I have a few links I want to share before I go (I'll be back on sometime Sunday evening and you bet I won't remember then what I wanted to show, so here they are):

Elec's blog: Kagrra,
I ran into this blog when I was looking for a romajised tracklist of Core. I've been enjoying reading the site enormously. Witty&funny, this guy is living the dream of every jrock fan :) Check out the entries he has written on Kagrra's albums Core and Shizuku. He has a lot of good points there. And, because of the writer, I've gotten quite interested in female vk, which has been previously rather a mystery to me. Byakura's Neo Japanesque sound is quite interesting, I recommend you to give it a try^^

Another Core review
I agree on pretty much everything said here~

Nautical stars and their meaning
I finally got myself around searching some information on the actual symbolism of nautical stars (well dang, it was a time, considering I'm hoping to get it tattooed on my skin tomorrow xD). I was stunned to read about the fact it represents the hope of finding one's path in life. That's exactly in what I need guidance now. I'm really glad I chose this symbol -or maybe it chose me, dunno. It couldn't be a better memory of this era of my life^-^~<3

kagrra, real life my ass, omg work, jrock, tattoos, real life rocks my socks, random
