Victorian Torchwood - Corset sewing

Dec 06, 2008 23:32

I cut out my corset the other day. Boy! that material is tough.I pinned four layers toegether to save time with the cutting, but nearly did my thumbs in pushing the pins through.

Today I have been sewing. I have inserted the busk for the front fastening. Took a little bit of work with the awl to get the holes big enough to get the knobs through. I'm always a little unnerved making holes in the middle of the peice of material that I am sewing. Tomorrow I am going to be making lots of holes and doing large amounts of hammering as I have to put the eyelets in next. 32 of them.

I'll see if I can find something good to watch while I'm doing it.
