I just got back from seeing Harry Potter on my ridiculously long 21-hour layover. Thankfully there's a big shopping center at the hotel, otherwise I'd be writing to you from a nice padded cell. I go see movies on long layovers, there's usually nothing else to do.
I watched Community last night when we got to the hotel. Tears for days. And then of course I went and cried all the way through HP. And then I listened to A Very Potter Musical on the way back to the hotel to cheer myself up. Next year, I am tracking down my college roommate, where ever she ends up moving, and going to the last movie with her (I had to work on opening weekend last month; our college group has a tradition of going together since one friends' birthday is always around Thanksgiving. We once drove an hour and a half to Louisville just to watch GoF on the IMAX screen out there). Hers were the first HP books I read our sophomore year (my mother wouldn't let me when I was in middle/high school).
I can't get enough of Darren Criss these days. I remember seeing AVPM come across my radar a couple of times last year, but I think I was so caught up with the new job and getting worked like crazy that I never paid too much attention to it (because really, what excuse do I have for not watching it before? It's two things I can't get enough of: musicals and Harry Potter). Part of it is because Glee is finally interesting to me again. Partly it's because of the Kurt/Blaine storyline, but also because The Warblers actually resemble a show choir. I've watched the show from day one because show choir was the only place I ever felt like I fit in during high school, so I have an attachment to it, but lately I've only stuck with it for only that reason. Now it's starting to become interesting to me, which is making me excited. Also, I don't like any of the adult relationship storylines (except for maybe Sue), and they focus so much on Will and Emma in particular that I get bored and disinterested. I understand why they do (so it's not just appealing as a high school drama), but seriously. There are so many ways to do high school relationships well.
Anyway. If I'd taken some time to think about that, it probably would have made more sense. That's not the point, though. The point is Darren Criss. If he wasn't so short I would be more in love with him than I am.
KIDDING I AM ALREADY TOTALLY IN LOVE.
