 R&M concert, which, as always, was cool.  Rhythm and Motion knows how to put on a show.  My only issue is that they do a lot of cutting and pasting music, and the transitions are generally terrible.  The choreography itself is great, but the transitions between sections inside of pieces?  Not so much.

 So I've kind of been hung up on making stuff that people can use for a long, long time.  Almost 8 years, in fact.  I've been of the opinion that if it can't be used, if you can't put liquid in it and drink tea or have oatmeal out of it, that it doesn't count, is a failure of a piece.  Seeing as those pieces were generally ugly as well, huzza.

The lesson did go well - I did a drawing lesson, where we moved from line drawing into thinking about the world away from the concept of lines.  (Piece of paper in 4, first block:  straight line, 2nd:  curvy line, 3rd: any sort of line they wanted, 4th: a line without drawing a line.)   ( Read more... )
