in Oakland this weekend

Maybe want to accompany me to see the OotP movie? Or do something else interesting?
I've got a business trip to California this weekend. I'll be in Mountain View until late Thursday, working from my uncle's house in Oakland on Friday, and hanging out with my uncle on Saturday before flying back Sunday.
But on Friday night, my uncle's going to a party in Sacramento. I can go along with him, but if any of you guys live public transit accessible to Oakland (or in Sacramento) and are free, I'd love to fit in some time with friends. Alternately, any suggestions about neat stuff I should do? I haven't ever had time on my own in SF actually, it's always been with family.
Also, any bright ideas about the best way to travel from Palo Alto to Oakland late on Thursday evening, please share!
