Blerg.
My head is full of snot and I didn't sleep very well. I keep needing to nap.
I did manage to bike into the lab today. Totally blew off yesterday.
Now my bike has a flat tire.
My new headlight battery arrived. *bright point*
I am going back to NiMH after a year of sketchy Li-Ion. The problem is that Li-Ion needs far more TLC, provided by a nifty little protection circuit provided by the battery manufacturer. This protection circuit a) does not provide enough protection (it permits excessive discharge) and b)is subject to false triggering (eg. killing the battery on the inrush current to the capacitors in the lamp power supply). I am sure that Li-Ion with a better protection circuit and better over-all integration would be lighter and 'better' than NiMH, but NiMH is simply robust and lets me be a bit more stupid.
