a little more each time

every time we go out it seems we're 'brave' enough to venture a little farther from home. today we went to the maryland sheep and wool festival, as mentioned - i'd always wanted to go. i honestly had little to no idea what to expect. i did some research this morning on ravelry - they have a group (ha, of course they do, they have groups for everything) for those going, that i joined... well, this morning. who said i was timely? :P i figured out what i definately wanted to see, and what sounded interesting, and we went on our way.

we got to the fairegrounds right around the time that the ravelry meet up was occuring. i figured i would get my button, see what was doing and poof. man was i wrong - i don't post there all THAT much, but i am a chat helper (not that much, but sometimes!) and i met/saw a LOT of people that i knew from the site!! it was so great to put face to names, and as expected everyone was even nicer in person. i even bumped into pinkribbonwench, and we chatted a bit.

i did a good amount of shopping - i went in with a purpose, actually. i've got a lot of yarn, but i've always wanted to learn to spin. yes, you say - with what time? well, i am insane, so i'll figure that out later. needless to say i am now the proud owner of a beautiful bosworth drop spindle (34g/1.21oz), as well as some beautiful roving from a few different vendors, the round balls being from handspun by stefania. i can't wait to give it a go :) i bought enough so that if i royally mess up i'll still have more to make lots of awesome with. or not, depending on my skill level :P

alex did great today too - although honestly chris watched him much more than i did. both of them were really awesome - let me shop, spent time with me. today was a lot of fun. we fed him in the car right when we got there, and then by the time we were leaving he was hungry again. i don't know if it counts for nursing in public if i'm in the back seat of my car :P

feeding him is going great, but man - i always forget which side i started on last. i found these awesome bracelets which to be honest - i might have laughed at a few months ago. i mean, who's so tired that they can't even remember the word 'left' or 'right' for two hours? me, that's who :P this bracelet is awesome. you wear it on the side you've got to feed on next (or did last, your choice) and there's a little charm that you move to the time that you last fed him, so you can remember that too.

there's still day to go even. i am le tired - i have not had this much activity in a loooong time. but it was very fun.
:)
