Well, the fiery sunset this evening ushered in the Jewish New Year, 5771. There are a lot of customs associated with this, of which I've only ever kept a few.
Canterbury Cathedral, Christchurch (NZ), is one of the very loveliest religious buildings I've ever been inside. Not because its architecture is all that remarkable-it looks like a small town church in Britain, to me-but because of the collection of artefacts and decoration inside.
