Prompted by a couple of friends' interest, I recently read the Dark Mountain Manifesto. It's long but worth a read, because it's a beautifully written expression of some important ideas. In spite of this, it didn't quite sit right with me.

This week has been dominated by installing this. Exhausted as I am right now, it's been unbelievably cool seeing it all go from Eric's sketch floorplan to a finished reality in the space of 5 days, and it is a really great show.

Every now and then, I see work by an artist I hadn't heard of before (or had heard of but not appreciated) and become obsessed with their work for a while. For me, the revelatory moment when the Tate Modern opened was that I suddenly 'got' Rothko, and I still think the Rothko room there is one of the most moving places to experience art. It will be called Strange Things, a nod to the previous ones being People Doing Strange Things With Electricity, in December and January, and submissions are due in September.
