In short, I walked 2 miles yesterday, in aggregate, so I could get the girls licensed. Today, I paid for it; I've been awake for about 45 minutes. My hips are sore. Oh well. On the other hand, the fact that I made it and that I'm tired and mildly sore as opposed to exhausted and aching attributes much to my drastic weight loss.
My bike is ready. We took it in to get it tuned and ready for a season of riding. How I wish I'd had it ready yesterday! 2 miles on a bike is so much easier (and faster) than 2 miles on foot.
On weight loss... The other night, we went to Target for assorted sundries, and I cruised the clearance racks. I found a pair of dark grey cargo pants for 6 dollars - size 2. I almost put them back and laughed, but then I decided I'd buy them. I can always return them if they don't fit. They fit. Perfectly. They're as comfy as pajama pants, and I can go outside in them without feeling silly. That I can manage to get into a size 2 - let alone wear them and not look like 10 pounds of nasty stuffed into a 5 pound sack - still blows my so-called mind. For me, this was the right choice, and even knowing what I went through to get "here," I'd do it again.
It's sunny and breezy outside. Nice day for riding. I'm looking forward to being able to bicycle again.
Take care, all.
