Right through the tattered blinds. Right in my eyes. It's just at the wrong angle.

Ah! Much better. An unused plastic folder suffices as a sun shield.
Oh, yesterday was a Tired Day, and then some. Neil is worried that he is asking me to do too much. I dunno...I keep hearing in my mind, "Other people manage to..." Of course, my name is not "Other People," nor is it "Everyone Else." My body is what is it, and there are Good Days and Bad Days. But stubbornly, I keep expecting myself to operate more or less normally, only to be whacked by the "What in the heck were you thinking!?" bat.
Well, I had the car's headlamps repaired. Very important, especially when we're expecting more rainy weather. I even watched the repairman do it, so I think that maybe, in a pinch, I might could change a bulb myself. (Famous last words...don't ask me how The Great Doorknob Fiasco is progressing...) I bought and drank a can of Venom at the service station, in the hope of remaining awake until Apria came for the wheelchair.
I went to Smart N Final for frozen Crab Rangoon. There was none to be had. I did find several other things, though. I tried Costco on Auburn Boulevard next. No soap, BUT I found several things there - beef-and-potato pies, crispy shrimp dim sum AND steamed char siu baos! Oodles of them!!!
So...why no Crab Rangoon? I suspect it's one of those minor production issues. I'll check again in a couple of weeks.
The Apria man came precise at two p.m. I gave him the chair and signed his receipt and went back in the house. He sat in front of our house for what felt like a very long time, but was actually more like twenty minutes. Still, why on earth was he sitting out there for twenty minutes? Neil imagines he was doing paperwork.
Once Apria had come and gone, I crashed and burned. It was about three by then. I didn't think I'd be able to get to sleep after chugging an energy drink, but I was out like the proverbial light. Neil called me at five. I went right back to sleep. And I continued to sleep, on and off, until it was almost time to pick up Neil.
Supper last night was leftover fried rice and pork baos rather than the quasi-Mexican meal I had originally planned. Pork baos microwave. Tamales need to be steamed. Guess which is easier? Still, for all its simplicity, it was a very good meal. Those baos were delicious!
Today, I'm going to join some friends at a small get-together. It should be fun, although I am already experiencing severe anxiety about going. Oh, I know I'll have a great time, once I'm there, but it's always the anticipation that gets me.
Never mind that...here's dragons and other critters:
