My therapist is kinda awesome. When there's really nothing exacerbating the depression in my life, she lets me ramble on about the Buffy comics, and now understands fandom terms like a pro (she's a New York Jew, so she told me I could teach her fandom terms and she'd teach me Yiddish words so I can impress all the Jews running Hollywood someday), knows the origins of slashfic, and how shippers differ from gen fans (though they should never be discounted simply because they're shippers - we spent an hour on this one, btw).

"You need to take charge and live your life. I don't want you to just read about space fucking. I want you to be the one doing the space fucking."

See? She totally gets me. Dr. Phil couldn't have put it better if he tried.
