When there's really nothing exacerbating the depression in my life, she lets me ramble on about the Buffy comics, and now understands fandom terms like a pro (she's a New York Jew, so she told me I could teach her fandom terms and she'd teach me Yiddish words so I can impress all the Jews running Hollywood someday),

No, seriously: she sounds awesome. And also this is so funny talking about therapy when I'm watching Being Erica.

She does sound awesome. She cut through all the wordy shrink stuff and gave it to you in terms you could relate. Good words of advice. Run your own life. That kind of advice I could have used back in the early years of my marriage. I might not have wasted twenty years on a jerk.
