Once I've formed an opinion about something, in an attempt to not live in a vacuum of self-importance, I always ask myself, "What if I'm wrong?" Then I argue with myself about both sides. I love having conversations with open-minded people, even those who lack the breadth of travel and experience I have had - it doesn't matter because they're so open minded they understand even things they've never experienced.
